Applique Bird Design

My sister's friend, Nikita has got a baby girl and my sis has asked me to sew a couple of baby frocks for her. I am now again faced with the dilemma of what to embroider and after much thought I decided on this applique bird design. I am really pleased with the end result. I am actually beginning to enjoy this applique designing. I am sorry I waited for so long to try it out on my Brother Innovis. The best part is I am getting better at digitizing these embroidery files and I even made the flowers and the grass by myself. Once you get the hang of the Wilcom software it gets pretty easy but then you need time to learn it and what with a full time job I have very little spare time so I have to work late into the night or get up a lot befor the rooster does! Ha! Ha! I am so charged with all the images that I see that I say I want to make all the different kinds of boy applique and girl applique designs so my older niece has suggested that I don't repeat a single design. Huh? That means I have to digitize a new embroidery design every time!!?? But that's the only way I can do a lot more applique designs, I guess! So, enjoy this applique bird design. This one is dedicated to my niece, Kim, who is currently suffering from chickenpox. :( Get well soon, Kim!

This is another design that I made for my little niece; I chose to make a flower applique design this time. I hope she likes it! :) Below you will find the dress I made for her with this applique flower pattern.

Whale Applique Machine Embroidery Design

My little niece loved the boy applique designs (whale applique design, owl applique design, ladybug applique design and helicopter applique design) that I made for her little cousin, Varun so I asked her if she would like some. She said she liked the ladybug applique pattern but then I had recently made her a frock with ladybugs. Her next choice was the whale applique pattern and so I made this dress for her using this machine embroidery design. Take a look at the frock I also made her with the flower applique design my other girl applique designs as well.

What applique designs to sew for a baby boy? I thought of the truck, cars, boat and finally settled on the helicopter. Turned out pretty good for a third motif attempt, I must say... :) Am getting hooked on to this applique business. Am actually enjoying creating the applique patterns in Wilcom. This is a lot of fun. Don't know why I didn't try the applique designs on my new machine all this while!

Ladybug Applique Design

 I love this ladybug design and it has been really appreciated by all who've seen it. However, there is still scope for improvement and I hope to make the changes some time soon and post another picture of the improvement.
